Cookies Policy

Independent Franchise Partners (“we” or “us”) uses cookies on our website (http://www.franchisepartners.com/ (the “Website”)) to distinguish you from other users of the Website. This helps us to provide you with a good experience when you browse the Website and also allows us to improve it over time. We may also use cookies to administer our services, remember your preferences, track users’ movements around the Website, gather demographic information about our userbase as a whole and record information about your visit to build a profile of you. The purpose for each cookie we use is set out below.

This notice explains how we use cookies on the Website, the type of cookies we use and why, and also how you can change your cookie preferences. You should read this cookie notice alongside our Website Terms of Use and our Privacy Notice

WHAT IS A COOKIE?

Cookies are small text files that are sent to or accessed from your web browser or your computer’s or mobile device’s hard drive and stored on your computer or device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as provide certain information to us about your use of the website, and to display content that is relevant to you.

A cookie typically contains the name of the domain (internet location) from which the cookie originated, the “lifetime” of the cookie (i.e., when it expires), and a randomly generated unique number or similar identifier. Cookies do not by themselves personally identify you but may be linked to other personal data that you provide to us through your interactions with us and the Website.

Cookies are typically either “session” or “persistent” cookies. A session cookie will only remain on your computer or mobile device for the duration of your session and will expire when you close either your web browser or the relevant tab in your web browser. Persistent cookies, on the other hand, will be stored on your device for a set period of time (usually less than a year, as set out below) so that we can remember if you have visited the Website before and your preferences, after which time they will automatically expire. You can delete persistent cookies at any time using your web browser settings.

HOW WE USE COOKIES

We use the following cookies, each of which has a different purpose:

  • Strictly necessary cookies. These are cookies that are required for the operation of the Website. They include, for example, cookies that help a webpage load quickly and that enable you to request services, communicate with us through the Website or log into secure areas of the Website.
  • Analytical/performance cookies. These cookies allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors to the Website and to see how visitors move around the Website when they are using it. This helps us to improve the way the Website works, for example by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily.
  • Functionality cookies. These cookies are used to recognise you when you return to the Website. This enables us to personalise our content for you and remember your preferences (for example, your user name, your choice of language or region). We also use HTTP cookies for customising your user experience, remembering your settings and monitoring use and effectiveness of our services.
  • Targeting cookies. These cookies record information about your visit to the Website to help target advertising and to build a profile of you, for example the pages you have visited, the links you have followed, and your browsing habits and interests. We may use this information to make the Website more relevant to your interests. We may also share this information with third parties for this purpose.

Some of the cookies we use are set by us and known as first-party cookies. Some are set by third parties, in particular Google Analytics, and we do not have access to or control over these technologies. These cookies are used to collect information about how visitors use the Website, how many visitors have accessed the Website, where visitors have come to the Website from and the pages viewed on the Website. We can then use this information to help us improve the Website. To learn more about Google’s privacy practices in relation to Google Analytics, please visit https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245.

You can find more information about the individual cookies we use and the purposes for which we use them in the table below:

However, please note that if you use your browser settings to block all cookies (including strictly necessary cookies) you may not be able to access all or parts of the Website. Except for essential cookies, all cookies will expire after 2 years.

Other tracking technologies operate in a similar way to cookies: for example, pixels, beacons, tags, scripts, social media plug-ins, and device fingerprinting techniques.  Where IFP seeks to use these technologies it will provide you with notice and how to avoid their use.
